This is a solid mount, the wall plate is 17.7" wide, allowing it to be mounted into two standard studs 16" apart. This provides a stable two stud installation for displays in the 32-55" size range. This mount will fit hole patterns up to VESA 400x400 (16"x16"). It is made from 2mm steel and can handle displays weighing up to 115lbs. The profile is only 2.75" in the flat position yet offers up to 15 degrees of tilt. This mount is currently only available in black. This is a very substantial mount with Dual arms and heavy gauge steel. The arms extend over 20" from the wall yet fold to less than 4.25". Even at full extension, this mount has very little sag or twist.
It is rated for up to 165lbs and most displays 65" and smaller weigh under 100lbs.
The unit has dual tilt adjustment knobs and it will tilt forward or back 15 degrees. The wall plate is 27.5" wide and has wide slots making it easy to mount into standard 16" studs even if they are not exactly 16" apart.
The universal design will fit any display with a hole pattern up to 26.3" wide and 17" tall. The wall plate is 1/8" thick and very stable and includes large center hole for cable pass-though into the wall. I wanted the smaller mount for it (the one that only goes to 37") so the ends don't stick out, etc. The harware pack was complete, and everything went together very nice. The mount itself is extremely sturdy, and the metal is nice and thick too. The black finish is nice also. I will definitely recommend Cheetah Mounts to everyone I know that needs to mount a lcd or plasma. Shipping was fast. They shipped this product the same day I ordered it. Cons: While this was a great purchase for the money, here are the negatives I've found about this mount. 1) The reason I took a star off was because of the design of this mount. Adjusting the screws is very difficult once the TV is hanging. In addition, I needed to get an extra long screwdriver to adjust the bottom-locking screws. I do not have experience with other mounts though, so this may be standard. Still though, it could be a little better designed to be user friendly. 2) The built in level seemed to be off. The TV that I mounted is a 46" Samsung (UN46C6300). I mounted the TV over my fireplace, so the 15 degree tilt works great to adjust the viewing angle. However, I have two slightly negative points to mention: * I prefer hex-head lag-bolts (rather than the phillips head lag-bolts that were provided), so I had to drop by Lowe's to pick up a set of those. I realize that this is a personal preference, but driving the hex head bolts with a ratchet was much easier than struggling with stripping the head of the phillips head bolts. * The spacers that I needed to use for my TV were not a consistent depth. Three of the spacers were correct, but there was an odd fourth spacer that was about half the depth of the others. Luckily, Samsung included a better set of spacers, so this was really a non-issue. If it weren't for these two minor points mentioned above, I would give a hearty 5-star...
