I bought it for my 58 inch Panasonic plasma TV that weighs 102 lbs. I had a lot of trouble finding a mount that I thought could handle the weight of this TV and still have the tilt, swivel and articulating features I was looking for. I was a bit skeptical having never seen the mount in person, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The first impression of this was when my wife called me at work to tell me it was delivered. FedEx left it on the front porch and she could not pick it up and bring it inside. It is incredibly heavy....and sturdy. Once I mounted this to the wall and hung the TV on it, the mount didn't sag, bend, or dip at all. It really held the 102 lbs. without any trouble. It can be moved to any position I want....tilt to reduce overhead lighting glare, or swivel to eliminate reflections from the wall of windows. I have a 52 inch flat screen and wanted a mount that would move out from the wall to get at the plugs and the would tilt ether up and down or side ways. This mount does all that and is strong enough that I will not loose my TV.
